Evergy was mandated to carry out Technical Due Diligence for the acquisition of the Tiln Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in the United Kingdom.

Located approximately 35 km east of Sheffield near Retford, the free-field Tiln BESS project was installed adjacent to an operational solar PV plant. The battery storage system consists of total 26 cabinets sorted into four blocks. The bigger blocks have an export/import capacity of 8.78 MW (2 x 4.39 MW), whereas the smaller blocks have a capacity of 4.39 MW. The system is connected to the grid at 132 kV voltage level. The BESS was commissioned in August 2024.

The services of Evergy comprised in particular:

  • Evaluation of the technical concept and design
  • Review of project contracts (EPC, O&M, transformer station)
  • Evaluation of warranty conditions by the battery supplier
  • Review of technical specifications of the battery system
  • Evaluation of the techno-economic operation scheme with focus on technical input parameters

Eines der ältesten Projekte ist Miegersbach (2005). Das war sehr innovativ damals – eine große Anlage. In extrem kurzer Zeit haben alle Beteiligten hochmotiviert daran gearbeitet und es perfekt umgesetzt.
One of the oldest projects is Miegersbach (2005). At the time it was really ground breaking – a big plant. Within a very short time everyone who was working on it was highly motivated and the project was completed perfectly.
