Serene Portfolio

Evergy was engaged by the investor to conduct a Technical Due Diligence of the Serene PV portfolio as part of the acquisition process. Beyond the acquisition phase, Evergy provided extended technical consultancy services throughout the procurement and construction stages.

The Serene portfolio comprises five utility-scale solar PV projects located between Gothenburg and Stockholm. At the time of acquisition, all plants were under development. Two projects achieved Ready-to-Build (RTB) status in 2024, with EPC contracts finalized in early 2025. Construction for these RTB projects was scheduled to commence in summer 2025.

Preparation and management of the EPC tendering process
Evaluation of EPC contractor bids
Technical advisory support for EPC and O&M contract negotiations
Review and validation of technical design and execution planning
Construction monitoring, including periodic site visits and milestone-based progress verification

Every project comes with its challenges. I have worked on the Operational Data Analysis of several hundred PV plants spread over 9 countries. This task gave me insight on the technology, geography constraints and quality of maintenance - all without taking a single “physical” step inside the plants.
