Evergy was appointed to conduct a comprehensive Technical Due Diligence for the acquisition of an operational hydroelectric power plant located in Tuscany, Italy. The plant has been in operation since 2008.

The Lucchio power plant is a run-of-river facility with a gross head of 68 meters. It is equipped with two Francis turbines, each with a nominal capacity of 3,600 kW, and is connected to the medium-voltage grid of the local distribution network operator.

The services of Evergy comprised in particular:

  • Verification of catchment area characteristics and flow rate assessments
  • Energy yield estimation based on historical operational data
  • Review of existing technical design and system layout
  • Site inspection and evaluation of the plant’s current technical condition
  • Development of a refurbishment plan with associated cost estimates
  • Review of existing Operation & Maintenance (O&M) contracts

Ein Projekt an dem ich gerne mitgewirkt habe, ist der Solarpark Gamma in Rumänien. Es war für das Land eines der ersten großen Solarkraftwerke, welches an das Hochspannungsnetz angeschlossen wurde.
One project I really enjoyed working on was the Gamma solar park in Romania. It was one of the first really big solar parks to be connected to the high voltage power grid in the country.
